Walter J. Heller

Walter J. Heller, 81, of Center Street West, Conneaut Lake, died suddenly Wednesday, February 4, 2009 while visiting his son in Bradenton, FL.

He was born in Pittsburgh October 29, 1927 a son of Frederick and Rose Heller.  He married Barbara Golden April 1962 and she survives.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army.  He was a member of Heat and Frost Insulators Local #2, Clinton, PA working in construction in the Pittsburgh and West Virginia areas.  He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church and he enjoyed fishing, boating and shopping.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Barbara of 46 years, include: six children, Marsha Hood and her husband Dan of Pittsburgh, Valerie Miller and her husband Gary of Pittsburgh, Robert Feist and his wife Iras of Brawley, CA, Teresa Petronio and her husband Bill of Linesville, Walter F. (Buggy) Heller and his wife Nancy of Bradenton, FL and Rose Holeva and her husband Marty of Conneaut Lake; fifteen grandchildren, Molly Snatchko, Robert Feist, Jewel Feist, Jennifer Feist, Randy Petronio, Mason Heller, Madison Heller, Ashley Holeva, Kristen Holeva, Nathan Holeva, Amber Heller, Jason Heller, Chaz Heller, Lisa Hood and Dustin Hood; three great grandchildren, Sadie Rose, Chloe and Denali; a brother, Sylvester Heller and his wife Jean of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Heller and Ernie Heller.

Calling hours will be Sunday, February 15th from 4-7 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake with a Scripture Prayer Service at 4 p.m.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 16th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth Street, Conneaut Lake with Fr. Steve Anderson, celebrant.

Burial with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006 will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 602, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
