Wanda E. Smock, 79, of 14679 State Hwy. 98, Meadville, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at the Meadville Medical Center, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 20, 1925 in Colebrook, OH a daughter of Michael and Pearl Clininski Bigusiak. She married Robert L. Smock November 16, 1946 and he preceded her in death July 30, 1987.
She was a 1943 graduate of Meadville High School, a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, a life member of Order of Eastern Star and a lifetime collector of antiques while traveling with her husband in their motor home. And she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Survivors, include two daughters, Diane Barris and her husband Bill of Cochranton and Leigh Ann Herzberger and her husband George of Cochranton; two sons, Gary R. Smock and his wife Cindy of Meadville and Lary L. Smock of Meadville and seven grandchildren, Robert, Ryan and Raun Crawford, Brent Reisinger, Kendra, Gretchen and Logan Herzberger, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Smock; four brothers, Steve and Andrew Bigusiak and Michael and Charles Lipton and three sisters, Lillian DeRemer, Edna Parks and Mary McCracken.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Aschmann, Pastor of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
