Ward O. Guelich

Ward O. Guelich, 77, of Saegertown, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born October 27, 1937 in Clearfield, a son of Ward O. and Emma Lippart Guelich.  He married Helen Vivian-Dangel January 17, 1981 and she survives.

Ward was a 1957 graduate of Lakeview High School and was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran serving from 1957 to 1960.  He was employed as a spinner for 20 years at Avtex, was warehouse supervisor for Cresscare, was a former self-employed television repairman, and retired from security at Lord Corporation.

Ward was of the Christian faith.  He was a former member of Meadville Eagles Aerie 429, enjoyed gardening, reading, bird watching, using his computer, was an avid history buff and formerly built model airplanes.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Helen, include three children, Michael W. Guelich of Warren and twins, Tamara Heimbrook and Timothy Guelich, both of Saegertown; six stepchildren, Theresa Turner and her husband David of Stewartstown, Patricia Hilton of Saegertown, Andrew Dangel of Saegertown, Edward Dangel and his wife Darlene of Meadville, Suzanne Ortwein of Meadville, and Steven Aul of Erie; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Pappa and Mary King.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Johnathan P. Schmolt, Pastor of St. Brigid Church, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery.
