Wayne A. Jones

Wayne A. Jones, 90, of Guys Mills, died at home surrounded by his family, Monday, November 25, 2013.

He was born in Guys Mills, March 5, 1923 a son of Lawrence N. and Neva E. Wiltse Jones.  He married Clara A. Kubisiak January 27, 1943 and she preceded him in death September 14, 2002.

He worked at the former American Viscose Corp and Avtex Corp. in the Spinning Dept for 42 years retiring in 1985.  He also farmed and raised cattle in the Guys Mills area.

He attended Randolph Schools and was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps.  He was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by a son, Lawrence Jones and his wife Linda of Randleman, NC; a daughter, Neva A. (Midge) Jones and her life partner Becky DuBose of Guys Mills; a step-grandson, David Browning and his wife Kourtni; a step great granddaughter, Amanda Jane; a brother-in-law, Harold Wolbert of Pittsfield; several nieces and nephews and Bob Kent and his companion Laurie Dengler of Saegertown, whom he always considered as a son.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth Jones, Walter Jones, James Jones and an infant brother, Wallace and two sisters, Anna Mae Wolbert and an infant sister, Elizabeth.

Calling hour will be Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Brumagin, officiating.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Black Ash Sportsman Inc., 84010 Clark Road, Guys Mills, PA 16327.
