Wayne F. Smith

Wayne F. Smith, 90, of Meadville, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a short period of declining health.

He was born January 8, 1930 in Meadville, a son of Edward and Frances Kramer Smith.

Wayne attended Cochranton Schools.  He was a self-employed farmer who was dedicated to the family farm his entire life.  He was proud of his dairy of distinction recognition.

Wayne was affiliated with Pine Grove United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed gardening and was always willing to extend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors.

Survivors include his loving nieces and nephews, Gerald Smith of Carlton, Carol Morrison of Carlton, Rita Preston (Robert) of Cochranton, Charles Smith (Cathy) of Meadville, Paul Smith (Anna) of Meadville, Donna Mudger (Ken) of Meadville, Diane Colwell of Meadville, Dorothy Porter of Meadville, and Earl Krider (Bonnie) of Meadville; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Oscar and Arthur Smith and three sisters, Freida Smith, Helen Krider and Leona Krider.

Calling hours will be Thursday, July 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where CDC guidelines for the wearing of masks will be followed.

The funeral service will be Friday, July 17th at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Alice McClymonds, Pastor of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
