Wayne Glen Hollabaugh

January 17, 1923 — January 22, 1999

Wayne Glen Hollabaugh, 76, of Guys Mills, died at home, Friday, January 22, 1999, following a period of declining health.

He was born in Black Ash, January 17, 1923, a son of Earl William and Elzada Cornell Hollabaugh.  He married Doris Marie Hall, May 24, 1947.  She survives.

He was co-founder and owner of Brunot and Hollabaugh Glass and Mirror, Inc. in 1947.  The business celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and received a citation from the PA House of Representatives and a special award from PPG.  They also opened a location in Grove City in 1983.

He was a member of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills, a 1941 graduate of Randolph High School, member of the National Glass Dealer Assn., Masonic Lodge #790 (Cochranton), past-president of the Crawford County Shrine Club, member of the Zem Zem Shrine Temple (Erie), and the Royal Order of Jesters.  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 9th Infantry Division of the US Army, where he saw action at the Battle of the Bulge.  He was a member of the American Legion and life member of VFW Post 2006.  He was also one of the founders of the Randolph Township Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Taylor Hose Co., Eagles Lodge #429 (Meadville), and life member of Elks Lodge #219 (Meadville).  He  was also a former member of the Meadville Country Club.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, card player and fanatical golfer.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include; two sons, Robert Earl Hollabaugh of Grove City and Gary Wayne Hollabaugh of Guys Mills; a daughter, Linda Eliane Barnes of Baltimore, MD; a sister, Nita Grace Pierce of Guys Mills; three step-sisters, Lenore Russell of Sacramento, CA, Martha Lewis of Hamden, CT and June Brunner of Somerset, PA; three step-sisters, Myles Schweitzer of Clemont, FL, Neil Scheitzer of Kent, WA and Roger Schweitzer of Clermont, FL; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by twin sisters, Louise Keller and Lucille Williams.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
