Wayne P. Nosker, 67, of Meadville died Monday, December 11, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Titusville July 22, 1950 a son of George and Evelyn Kightlinger Nosker. He married Marie Clark February 2, 1974 and she survives.
He was a 1968 graduate of the former St. Joseph’s Academy in Titusville and a 1972 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in English & Communications. He worked at WMGW, the former Mace Electronics and then was owner of Hunter’s News in Meadville. He was a life-long Pittsburgh sports fan holding season tickets to both the Steelers (since 1972) and the Pirates (since 2010). He also greatly enjoyed attending Penguin and Pitt sporting events. He was well known in the area for his Meadville Tribune column “Fan In The Stands.”
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Marie, of 43 years, include: his mother, Evelyn Nosker-Bickel of Meadville; his sister, Linda Litzinger and her husband John of Meadville; two nephews, Michael Litzinger and his wife Heather and Mark Litzinger and his wife Charlotte; three great nephews, Hezekiah, Clayton and Noah; three great nieces, Cerese, Abigail and Cassidy and many brothers and sisters-in-law and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Nosker and his step-father, George Bickel.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
Private family interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
