Wendy L. Lundell Mcknight

Wendy L. Lundell McKnight, 47, of 12904 State Hwy 98, Meadville, died Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at Meadville Medical Center following a 3-month illness.

She was born in Meadville September 28, 1956, a daughter of Donald and Caroline Crabb Lundell.  She married Larry McKnight and he survives.

She was a 1974 graduate of Linesville High School and a 1978 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education.  She had worked as a waitress at Red Lobster in Meadville since 1990 and at Classy Canine in Meadville as a pet groomer since 2000.  She previously worked as a waitress at Ricci’s Restaurant in Meadville and at Pizza Hut in Meadville and Oil City.  She was a 4-H leader of the Crawford County K-9 Club and a volunteer with the Paws Hand Delivered Therapy Group that visited area nursing home residents.  She was a member of the Sheltie Dog Rescue Group.  She was actively involved in dog agility training and she showed her dogs and competed in dog agility competitions in western PA and northeast OH where she won various awards.

She was a member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Meadville.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her parents, Donald and Caroline Lundell of Conneaut Lake; a stepdaughter, Alexsandria McKnight of Meadville; a sister, Susan Higby and her husband Glenn of Meadville; 2 brothers, Dennis Lundell of Stow, OH and Robert Lundell and his wife Paula of Akron, OH; 3 nephews; 1 niece; and several aunts and uncles.

Calling hours will be today (Friday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Stanley Smith, Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. Brian Moran, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, co-officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
