Wilbur A. Miller

Wilbur A. Miller, 86, of Meadville, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Stoneboro April 17, 1930 a son of Cecil J. and Ruby Luise Hogg Miller.  He married Patricia N. (Patty) Newton June 18, 1955 and she preceded him in death March 29, 2002.

He was a 1948 graduate of Hickory High School and he attended Youngstown State University.  He first operated a dry cleaning business in Sharon and then was an independent insurance agent from 1963 until his retirement in 2009.

He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, spending time at the camp on the Clarion River and his grandchildren and great grandsons.

He is survived by a daughter, Suzan K. Moyers and her husband Jeffery of Clarion; two sons, Mark A. Miller and his wife Carol of Franklin and David C. Miller and his wife Marie of Meadville; five grandchildren, Shawn Miller and his wife Peggy Sue, Eric Miller and his wife Jenn, Bryan Miller, Christopher Miller and Jenna Wagner and her husband Matthew; five great grandsons, Bryce, Wyatt, Dylan, Dmitry and Trace and two nieces, Lynne Jones and Denise Malovich.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Loy A. Daye and her husband Merle.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Doug Messerall, officiating.

Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, New Castle.
