Wilbur Lee Webster, 87, formerly of 11406 Williamson Road, Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center since February 2007 went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Erie, March 20, 1923 a son of the late Ralph L. and Flossy Nick Webster. He was previously married to Doris M. Crowe Webster Grabenstetter.
He worked in the accounting department of Talon and Textron Inc. for 38 years and then worked for the Crawford County Aging Office and BHB Industries in Cambridge Springs, retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of World War II, serving for three years in the US Army obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was a member of First Christian Church. He was a 1941 graduate of Academy High School, Erie and he attended Penn State Behrend, Gannon University and Allegheny College night classes in accounting.
Survivors, include: a daughter, Darleen R. Clark of Mauldin, SC; a son, Edward R. Crowe and his wife Deborah of Meadville; four grandchildren, Ryan J. MacLeod, Rebecca L. Hayes, Joseph E. Crowe and Michelle E. Crowe; two great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Tousey of Erie and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Rogerson and Clara Cooper and a brother, Raymond Webster.
There will be no calling hours. He willed his body for studies in the furtherance of scientific medicine to the Humanity Gifts Registry.
The memorial service will be Saturday, January 22nd at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church, 503 N. Main Street with Dr. Terry Clark, Pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Deep Valley Christian Service Camp, c/o First Christian Church, 503 N. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
