Wilbur R. Rounds, 84, a former Meadville resident, and a resident of 3926 W. Rose Lane, Phoenix, AZ since 1997, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Coronado Care Center, Phoenix.
He was born in Meadville April 19, 1918, a son of the late Carl E. & Floye Kightlinger Rounds. He married Patricia L. Mears and she survives.
He was a graduate of Meadville High School and the Talon Tool & Die Apprentice program. He had worked for several Tool & Die Companies in the Meadville Area and had retired from Talon in 1983, after 14 years of service.
He was a member of the Ambassador Heights Baptist Church of Phoenix, the Masonic Lodge of Meadville, and the Meadville Ski Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include 1 son, William D. (Will) Rounds and his wife Maria of Phoenix and 1 daughter, Valerie Johnson and her husband Kerry of Minneapolis, MN; 4 grandchildren, Serena and Patty Rounds, and Elliot and Veronica Johnson; 2 sisters, Maxine Calvin of Meadville and June Allen of Terre Haute, IN; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, George R. Rounds and a brother, Carl R. Rounds.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Philip Thomas, Pastor of the Bible Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery, E. Mead Township.
