Wilda Lois Bovard, 81, of Meadville, a local teacher for 15 years, died Sunday, December 23, 1990, at Meadville Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born in Harmony, Allegheny County, October 20, 1909, a daughter of Newton and Alta Hovis Eppinger. She married Gerald C. Bovard on June 30, 1937. He preceded her in death September 29, 1983.
She was a 1929 graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College and taught in the Pittsburgh area for eight years and in Meadville area elementary schools for 15 years. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Richard N. Bovard of Meadville and Gary P. Bovard of New York City; one brother, Kenneth Eppinger of Penn Hills; two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lou, and by four brothers, Melvin, Layton, Howard and Ralph Eppinger.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
