Wilfred E. Smith

Wilfred E. Smith, 70, of East Mead Township, was pronounced dead at his home Friday, May 25, 1984, by Crawford County Coroner G. Arden Hughes.

He was born at Meadville, April 23, 1914, a son of Leslie and Emma Jane Hamilton Smith.  Mr. Smith married the former Wilma Hudson on April 29, 1939.  He had retired from Channellock and had formerly been employed at Frontier Homes.  He was a member of Wayland Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Christine) Kell of Victoria, TX and Mrs. Timothy (Shirley) Irving of Hannibel, NY; two sons, Clark E. Smith at home and Jesse B. Smith stationed with the US Air Force in Italy; four sisters, Mrs. Vance (Lena) Mattocks, Mrs. Jess (Viola) Maines and Mrs. Paul (Virginia) Goodman, all of Meadville and Mrs. Milton (Lucinda) VanSlyke of Downey, CA; a brother, Arnold Smith of Saegertown; several nieces and nephews and seven grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
