Willa W. Jones

Willa W. Jones, 96, a former Guys Mills resident, a resident of Piperville, PA, and most recently of Homestead Nursing Home, died Monday, December 16, 1996, at Abington, Hospital, Abington, after a brief illness.

She was born November 14, 1900, at Mt. Hope, a daughter of Eugene and Emma (Gorley) Messerall.  She married Arnold F. (Casey) Jones March 28, 1922, and he preceded her in death, January 14, 1973.

She was a homemaker and had taught school for a brief period near Cochranton.  She was a member of the Townville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Eula) Mosteller of Rogers, AR and Mrs. Dorothy Negley of Lansing, NY; one son, Dale Jones of Pipersville; six grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Messerall.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
