William A. Mcfarlin

June 27, 1909 — April 22, 2001

William M. McFarlin, 91, a Marion, OH native, and a resident of Meadville, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville, PA after a period of declining health.

He was born in Marion, June 27, 1909, a son of Harry and Effie Andrews McFarlin.  He first married Glendora Sims, who died July 1, 1967.  He subsequently married Ruth Anna Brinkman, October 10, 1971, and she survives.

He had been employed as a truck driver for many years, and retired as Warehouse Manager for Sims Brothers Recycling of Marion.

He was a member and former deacon of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Marion.

He especially enjoyed his family, and had been an avid fisherman.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Ruth of Meadville, include one daughter, Sheila Dix (John) of Greenville, NC; two sons, Allen McFarland (Debbie) of Tampa, FL and Brendt McFarlin (Barbara) of Tucson, AZ; a step-daughter, Barbara Creasap of Meadville; six grandchildren, five step grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchild and one brother, Harry McFarlin of Lakeland, FL.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Ledley.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Chapel Heights Memorial Gardens, Marion.
