William C. Bohrer

August 7, 1918 — October 20, 1999

William C. Bohrer, 81, of Meadville, died Wednesday, October 20, 1999, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Meadville August 7, 1918, a son of William John and Bertha Elizabeth Schwab Bohrer.  He married Doris Irene Early, September 16, 1944, she survives.

He was a graduate of Saegertown High School, and had retired as a lineman for Alltel in 1983, after 11 years of service.  He had previously worked at Avtex, Hathaway Bakeries, Harper's Inc., Sandan's Inc., and Talon, Inc.  He was a veteran of World War II with the US Army 25th Infantry Division in the Pacific Theater.  He was a member of Saegertown American Legion Post #0205, Meadville VFW Post #2006, National Rifle Assn.,  AARP and a retired member of Local #2098 Int. Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Corine Jan (Edward Hecker) of Saegertown; a son, Stephen Charles Bohrer of Spokane, WA; two sisters, Helen Rich of Meadville and Mary Dronko of Saegertown; two brothers, Charles (Pat) Barry and Robert Barry of Meadville; five grandchildren, Tina Knuth, Matthew Hecker, Andrea Hecker, Heather Nuhfer and Zachary Bohrer; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Francis Barry.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
