William Carl Davis

May 2, 1939 — June 15, 2024

William C. Davis, 85, of Stoneboro, passed away on June 15, 2024 at UPMC Horizon-Shenango Valley. William was born on May 2, 1939, to the late Robert and Hildur Davis. William served his country in the Army before going on to a lengthy career at Joy Manufacturing.

William married the love of his life, Sharon, on February 14, 1965.

William was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He was an outdoorsman at heart who hunted, nurtured trees, and had great compassion for animals. He was a loving and devoted dog owner throughout his life. He was also a proud, lifelong member of the NRA. Bill, as he was known to many around him, gathered an expansive knowledge of the American Civil War through reading and research. He also enjoyed classic Western films. At home William was a devoted father, son, and brother. He was broadly knowledgeable in home and electrical repair and could always be counted on to see that the house was consistently in good working order.
William is survived by his six children: Dustin (Jane Snively) Davis; Clinton Davis (Nicole J. Barton); Maritt (Michael) Meadors; Adam Davis (Kevin Stubbs); Brett Davis (Lara Goldie); and Megan (Winston) King, and eight grandchildren. He also has several nieces and nephews who will always remember him. Bill’s lifelong friend of over 80 years, Ted Mattson, will also dearly miss him.

William is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sisters; Roberta Mills and Thomasine Garner.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro. Full Military Honors will take place at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery, with interment to follow.
