William Clifton Trout, 69, of Meadville, died Friday evening, September 12, 1958, at Spencer Hospital, where he had been a patient 12 days.
He lived in the Meadville area about 30 years.
A native of North Maryland, he was born July 2, 1889, a son of Michael David and Jemima Ann Davis Trout. He married the former Bessie L. Smith August 12, 1935. She survives.
He was employed by American Viscose Corp. as a rigger foreman until four years ago, when he retired. Before that, he had worked as a rigger foreman for Standard Steel of Lewistown.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class of the church; Viscose Foreman's Club and Blooming Valley Grange.
Surviving, besides his widow, are two children, Mary Jane and William Clifton, Jr., both at home; two children, by a previous marriage, Mrs. Franklin Buckwalter of Colonial Heights, VA and Paul of Harrisburg; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Holtzhart of York, Mrs. Marx Miller of Hagerstown, MD and Mrs. Emery Kopp of New Salem, York; a brother, Michael David of Harrisburg; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
