William E. "Bill" Kemm

William E. “Bill” Kemm, 82, of Mercer, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Quality Life Services in Mercer, with his loving wife by his side. Bill was born on February 15, 1939 in Mercer to the late Norman and Viola (Rose) Kemm. He was a 1957 graduate of Mercer High School. He went on to drive school bus for Mercer School District in the 1960s and 1970s. Bill farmed with a herd of Holstein cattle and then later a herd of Hereford cattle. He belonged to the Northwest Pennsylvania Polled Hereford Association and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. He also hauled cattle to the local sale barns and the various items for the local community. Bill looked forward to his nieces and nephews coming for summer visits when school was out. They enjoyed getting to go in the truck with Uncle Bill when he hauled animals to the sales, and following him around the barn and pasture fields to see the cows. Bill married his beloved wife, Glenda Callahan, on July 20, 1968, she survives at home. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by a sister-in-law, Janet Borden, of Carlisle, PA; brothers-in-law, Robert Callahan, of Ashtabula, OH, and William Callahan, of Mifflinburg, PA; nieces and nephews, Heather Stevens, Melinda Schaefer, Kathy Stover, Vernon Borden, Joshua Borden, and eleven great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several cousins, including, Janet Micsky, who visited him often when he was in the nursing home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 4 pm – 7 pm on Monday, November 15, and from 10 am – 11 am on Tuesday, November 16. A funeral service will follow at 11 am on Tuesday with Lay Pastor Lance Borden, officiating. Interment will take place in Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Miami Office, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL, 33131, or the New York Office, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
