William E. Powell, 77, formerly of the Quality Living Center, Saegertown and a current resident of the Crawford County Care Center, died there Thursday, October 07, 2004.
He was born in Meadville November 23, 1926, a son of the late Charles and Myrtle Spaid Powell.
He worked at one time with his father in the sanitation industry in the family owned company, Powell’s Sanitation. He attended Saegertown United Methodist Church and loved playing bingo and enjoyed all the activities offered through the Quality Living Center and the Crawford County Care Center.
Survivors include 3 sisters, Shirley Skillsky of Guys Mills; Rosemarie Dewey and her husband Dale of Guys Mills; and Annabelle Price and her husband Paul of Meadville; a half-sister, Donna Trypus of Meadville; 3 half-brothers, Timothy Powell and his wife Linda of Meadville; Harold Powell of Saegertown; and Gary Powell of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mildred M. Powell.
Calling hour is Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Rial, Associate Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
