William F. “B.J.” Jones, 57, of 106 Lincoln Ave., Meadville, died Monday, October 10, 2005 at his residence following a 7-month illness.
He was born in Harvey, IL June 5, 1948, a son of the late Irvin and Irene Jones. He married Coralett Waid December 7, 1968 and she survives.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for 5 years at Contempo Tech Cleaning Service of Cranberry where he serviced Alltel Corporation outposts. He previously worked at Warren Industries, was a taxi driver for Lafayette Taxi Co., cleaned the former Adairs and T and R Bars on North Street, and was a cook at various restaurants throughout the area. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a former member of ABATE. He was formerly an avid billiard player.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 36 years, include 2 daughters, Diana Jones Percy and Kara Jones, both of Meadville; a son, Adam Jones of Meadville; 2 grandchildren, Kayla Withers and Haley Jones; a sister, Joyce Weibel of Illinois; 3 brothers, Denny Jones of Illinois; David Jones of Georgia; and Jack Jones of Oregon; a half-sister, Cathy Brockman of Illinois; a half-brother, Thomas Brockman of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be at a date and time to be announced.
