William F. Poly, 85, of 30085 State Hwy. #27, Guys Mills died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 03, 2003 at the Meadville Medical Center.
He was born November 7, 1918 in Randolph Twp., Crawford County a son of Rex L. and Mary R Schenberg Poly. He married Myrtle E. Hulings October 28, 1950 and she preceded him in death February 1, 2003.
He retired in 1981 as Supervisor in the Spinning Dept. of Avtex, Inc. after 40 years of service. He was a 1936 graduate of Randolph High School and a veteran of World War II with the US Army Medical Corps.
He was a member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, Frenchtown. He also enjoyed gardening and being with his family.
Survivors, include a daughter, Karen L. Dick and her husband James of Cochranton; a son, F. Rex Poly of Guys Mills; three grandchildren, Jenna Marie Dick, Adam William Dick and Travis James Dick; and a sister, Marian Matthews of Cambridge Springs. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ily Smith, Luella Holcomb and Louise Poly and two brothers, Ernest Poly and Joseph Poly.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer service at 3 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, 25997 State Hwy. #27, Frenchtown with Rev. B. Lamont Sayers, as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Hippolyte Church Building Fund, 25997 State Hwy. #27, Guys Mills, PA 16327.
