William Frederick Hogan

September 23, 1932 — June 6, 1970

A Meadville-area man was killed in a railroad accident Saturday night at Leavittsburg, OH.

William Frederick Hogan, 40, of Meadville, was pronounced died on arrival at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, OH.  Officials in the Trumbull County Sheriff's office said Hogan was killed during a car uncoupling operation.

He was born at West Monterey, Clarion County, September 23, 1932, a son of Clair and Helen McElhaney Hogan.  He married Geraldine Holbrook, June 6, 1970.  He was employed as a conductor by the Erie Lackawanna Railway Co.  He attended First Baptist Church.  He was a graduate of Saegertown Area High School and served two years with the US Army, part of that time in Germany.

Survivors include his widow; five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Reed, Miss Mildred Hogan, Miss Melody Hogan and Miss Billie Lee Hogan, all of Niagara Falls, NY, Miss Tina Hogan, at home; his mother of Meadville; four sisters, Mrs. Paul (Mona) Sproull of Meadville, Mrs. Kenneth (Emma Louise) Slosky of Linesville, Mrs. Robert (Winifred Lee) Zanotti of Edinboro and Mrs. Henry (Dianne) DeEulio of New Castle; two brothers, Raymond Hogan of Cochranton and Dane Hogan of Blooming Valley; one aunt; one uncle; several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
