William G. Best

William G. Best, 78, of the Espyville area died Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born May 23, 1942 in Pittsburgh a son of John Edward and Catherine Carney Best.  William is survived by his beloved wife, Carolann (Haslett) Best married May 6, 1966.

He was a 1960 graduate of Washington Vocational High School in Lawrenceville and he served in the National Guard.  He worked for Swindell Co., Wheelabrator (WAPC), Rust, and Raytheon Co. in Pittsburgh for 33 years retiring in 1998 as manager of the Facilities and Graphics Department.

Survivors in addition to his wife Carolann of 54 years, include: a son, William John Best (Patricia) of Gibsonia, PA; two grandchildren, Kaylee Ann Best and Logan John Best; a sister, Joan E. Best of Lawrenceville, PA; two brothers, John (Edward) (the late Jean) Best of Morningside, PA and Tom Best (Nancy) of Allison Park, PA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents John Edward & Catherine (Carney) Best, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty (Howard) Lentz and Catherine (Sis) (James) Kelly and a brother, Robert (Mary Ellen) Best.

The family will hold services and interment in Pittsburgh at a later date.
