William H. Smith, Jr.

William H. Smith, Jr., 83, formally of A7 Yorktown House, Meadville, Conneaut Lake and Troy Hill, Pittsburgh, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Arista Care Park Ave., Meadville, with his loving wife by his side after a long illness with Dementia and a 12-year cancer survivor.

Bill was born June 21, 1935, a son of the late William Homer Smith, Sr. and Clara DuMont Smith, the oldest of five boys.

On June 9, 1956, Bill married his loving wife Barbara (Jockel) Smith, she survives.  After graduating from Avalon/Bellevue High School in 1955, he worked at Haser Trucking, Millvale; Werner Continental of Pittsburgh and West Middlesex; and TAW Don Wilson Trucking, Saegertown before retiring.  Outside of work, he traveled to Florida visiting grandchildren and going to NASCAR events.

Bill is survived by his wife along with three children, Cindy (Mike) Fiorillo of Meadville, Wm David Smith and his companion Diane Deeter of Utica, Ken Smith of Meadville, along with daughter-in-law Fran Smith; grandchildren, Linda Smith, Bill (Haley) Smith, Caren Fiorillo, Kristi (Trevor) Berryhill, and Emily Smith; great-grandchildren, Michael & Wesson Smith, Guiliana & Cannon Berryhill, and Michael Fiorillo.  He is also survived by four brothers, Bud Smith, Ron (Glenna) Smith, Gary (Julie) Smith, and George (Jackie) Smith.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 30th from 3-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, INC., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Temple Jarrell officiating.

Interment will be at Our Lady Queen of Americas Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.
