William Henry Brooks

January 27, 1941 — January 16, 2015

William Henry (Sonny) Brooks, 73, a longtime resident of Linesville and currently a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Greenwood Twp., January 27, 1941 a son of Preston Henry and Marion Elizabeth Huson Brooks.  He married Pauline Keene June 6, 1971 and she survives.

He was a truck driver for over 40 years and also delivered the Meadville Tribune for 10 years and was a Carrier of the Year.  He loved driving, country music (especially Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and Jim Reeves), Western movies, watching his Atlanta Braves and Buffalo Bills, playing the lottery, his dog “Minnie” and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was also known as “Wild Bill” at Wesbury.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Pauline of 35 years, include: six children, Robin Coxson and her husband James of Conneaut Lake, Bradley Harvey and his wife Lori of Jamestown, Allen Harvey and his wife JoAnn of Linesville, Billie Spencer and her husband Scott of Conneaut Lake, Tracey Polk and her husband Michael of Linesville and Kelly Brooks of Meadville; thirteen grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Singer and her husband Steve of Saegertown and Beth Huber of New Jersey; a brother-in-law, Paul Keene and his wife Bonnie of Conneaut Lake and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Feltenberger and her husband Ted.

A private family memorial service will be held in the Barco Chapel of Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
