William I. Smith

William I. Smith, 78, of Randolph Township, died Wednesday, July 8, 1959, at City Hospital after an illness of several months.

He was born in Drehersville, Schuykill County, September 14, 1880, a son of William C. and Katherine Lesher Smith.

He was married September 5, 1905, to the former Sadie Murray who died on Easter Sunday, March 29, 1959.

He was a retired farmer and formerly was affiliated with the Zion Lutheran Church in Humelstown.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Paul V. (Ada) Dingle of Meadville; six sons, Charles M. of Mt. Hope, William B. and Walter H. of Titusville, Ammon G. of Alboin of Ralph M. and Robert L. of Guys Mills; three sisters, Mrs. Charles H. (Katherine) Bird of Swain, NY, Miss Edna Smith of Orwigsburg and Mrs. Mabel McKeever of Wescosville; two brothers, Robert M. and George of Allentown; twenty-two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Radle Cemetery, Randolph Township.
