William J. Stephens, 27, of Meadville, was pronounced dead at the scene of an automobile accident by the Ashtabula County coroner.
He was born at Pittsburgh, September 27, 1945, a son of Carl P. and E. Jean Reed Stephens. He married Carol Ann Sippy, July 3, 1965. He was employed as a tool and die maker at Talon Division of Textron and was a member of Park Congregational Church. He was a 1963 graduate of Meadville High School and attended Alliance College and was a member of Crawford Masonic Lodge 234 and International Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Lisa Stephens and a son, David Stephens, both at home; his parents of Meadville; a brother, Bradley C. Stephens of Meadville; maternal grandmother, Mrs. George (Olive) Rose of Woodsfield, OH; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Stephens of Hialeah, FL and several aunts and uncles.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in St. Brigid Cemetery.
