William Paul Knight

William Paul "Billy" Knight passed away February 22, 2025, after a courageous, year long battle with cancer.

Billy was born in Pittsburgh on January 1, 1953, to Paul Knight and Annabelle (Frey) Knight. He was a 1971 graduate of Linesville High School. In his junior year of high school, he began working for Moody & Associates Well Drilling and worked there until his retirement in 2015. In 1978 he met his love, Toni Neri. They married on May 14th, 1988, and have been together for 47 years.

Billy was well loved in the Conneaut Lake area. He was a member of the former Conneaut Lake Park Firehall (Station 5) and always looked forward to Friday nights. He was a current member of the Linesville VFW Post # 7842. Billy was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. He especially loved NASCAR and the late Dale Earnhardt. He attended numerous races. His favorite being Michigan Speedway in the infield. Billy loved sitting on his deck in the summer, putzing in his garage, mowing the lawn, working in the garden and going to the casino with Toni.

He was a hard worker, a gentle soul with a dry sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife Toni, he is survived by his daughter Brandy (Knight) Grinnell and her husband Bruce of Conneaut Lake. He was a proud Poppa to Maddy Grinnell, also of Conneaut Lake. He is Also survived by his brother-in-law Sam Neri (Audrea) of Hubbard, OH. Sister-in-law Pam Begeot of Hubbard, OH. Sister-in-law Patti Whittaker (Patrick) of Boardman, OH. A stepbrother Joe Troxell and his wife Julie of Geneva, PA. He was also Uncle Billy to numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Shirley (Knight) Worden and her husband Ray. A brother-in-law Thom Begeot.

Billy's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Wismer, Jolene and the staff at Yolanda Barco Institute, the radiology staff at Meadville Medical Center for their care over the past year and Dr. Rebecca Lashbrook.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday 2-27-25 in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE with Rev. Dustin Heath, officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday 2-26-25 from 3:00-7:00 PM and again on Thursday 2-27-25 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
