William L. Gibson

William L. Gibson, 73, of Meadville, died Sunday, October 1, 1989, at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Mr. Gibson was born in Coeburn, VA, February 28, 1916, a son of George and Liza Holbrook Gibson.  He married Pauline Laughters October 31, 1936.  She survives.

He retired as a production worker in the acetate department of the former Avtex Fibers, Inc.  He also had been employed as a school bus driver for the former Meadville School District.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Patsy) Yarnell of Meadville and Mrs. Gary (Shirley) McNulty of Conneaut Lake; one son, Allen L. Gibson of Meadville; six sisters, Violet Jones of Richland, VA, Lola Johnson of Norton, VA, Evelyn McGlothlin of Tucson, AZ, Bonnie Richards of Meadville, Hazel Richards of Chuckey, TN and Ann Jordan of Kill Devil Hills, NC; one brother, Sevier Gibson of Coeburn, VA; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Sulfridge.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
