William Leroy Tenon

William L. Tenon, 48, of York, died Sunday, February 25, 1996 at York Hospital following a period of declining health.

Mr. Tenon was born October 24, 1947 at Curwensville, PA, a son of William L. and Jean Hensley Tenon.  He had been married to the former Marlene George.

He was a 1965 graduate of Meadville High School.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War with the US Marine Corps. and recipient of the Purple Heart, Presidential Citation Award, and Good Conduct Medal.  He worked for five years for the Alan Deamer Construction Co. of York as stone mason and was also a trained locksmith.  He was a former member of VFW Post #2006 of Meadville.

Survivors include one son, William R. Tenon of Erie; his father, William L. Tenon of Meadville; one sister, Mrs. Becky Dennis of Charleston, SC; one brother, Timothy A. Tenon of Lewisburg and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Tenon and one brother, Edward M. Tenon.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
