William P. Youngblood

April 26, 1950 — March 16, 2019

William Paul Youngblood (Bill), 68, of Putnam, CT and formerly of both Geneva and Greenville, passed away March 16, 2019 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and his dog Toby.

Bill was born April 26, 1950 in Denver, Colorado, the son of William G. Youngblood and Elena M. Sportsman Youngblood.  He was married to Juanita Langdon March 1, 1969 and celebrated their 50th anniversary before his passing.

Bill was a welder by trade and worked at Steel Car in Greenville and Electric Boat in Groton, CT.  He was a carpenter and all around do it yourself guy by avocation.  He loved spending time in his wood shop building furniture and toys for family and friends, but especially toys for the grandkids.  He also enjoyed playing golf, riding his Harley Davidson, driving his Corvette and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a Member of the Putnam Elks Club and an avid pool player with APA 8 Ball/9 Ball and had the opportunity to compete in Las Vegas.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Juanita, three daughters, Amy Key (Carlo), Traci Scott (Michael), Noel Blais (Gene); five grandchildren, Joshua, Chelsea, Jon, Drake, and Mason; five great-grandchildren, Lillian, Riley, Marlee, Audrey and Alexander; five siblings, Thomas Youngblood (Constance) of Meadville, Elena DiGregorio of Greenville, David Youngblood (Lois) of Hadley, Ina Daniello of Hadley, and Sharon Benger (John) of Lexington, NC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was predeceased by his parents.  Bill’s wishes were to have no service, but family has chosen to have a celebration of his life in Putnam, CT on Memorial Day weekend.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where memories and condolences may be shared at www.waidfuneralhome.net.
