William R. Berkstresser

William R. Berkstresser, 77, of Meadville, died Monday April 7, 2008 at Rolling Fields, Conneautville.

He was born May 10 1930 in Ebensburg, a son of the late John and Mary Wasser Berkstresser.  He married Eileen M. Pearson April 3, 1954.

He was a 1958 graduate of Allegheny College and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in January 2001.  He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1955, stationed in England.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Eileen of 54 years, include 3 sons, Timothy Berkstresser of Houston, TX; Terence Berkstresser of Meadville; and Thomas Berkstresser of Meadville; 2 sisters, Marian Rorabaugh of Ebensburg and Susan Berkstresser of Johnstown; a brother, David Berkstresser of Ledyard, CT; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Caltagirone and a brother, Jack Berkstresser.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
