William R. Pyle

William R. Pyle, 74, of 8508 Franklin Pike, Meadville, died Saturday, September 06, 2003 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Mahoning Township, Armstrong County April 9, 1929, a son of the late Reginald and Grace Harmon Pyle.  He married Merigene Randall October 17, 1947.

He was a 1947 graduate of Meadville High School.  He retired from the Viscose as a production worker following 38 years of service.  He also drove school bus for Crawford Central School District, worked at Wilson Lumber Co., and Giant Eagle of Edinboro.  He loved reading and watching sporting events.

He attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 55 years, include 3 daughters, Kathleen Burnett and her husband Paul of Meadville; Kimberly Marvin of Meadville; and Melissa (Missy) Bessey and her husband Butch of Palmyra, NY; 2 sons, Thomas L. Pyle and his wife Denise of North East and Jon Scott Pyle and his wife Nancy of Meadville; a sister, Ruth Crecraft of Meadville; a brother, John Pyle of Meadville; 5 grandchildren, Meghan Ghani, Meredith Burnett, Daniel Marvin, Heather Marvin, and Michael Pyle; several step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 1 niece and 1 nephew.  He was preceded in death by a son, William (Randy) Pyle.

Calling hours will be today (Monday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 543 Randolph St., Meadville.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Messerall officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Merigene Pyle, 8508 Franklin Pike, Meadville, PA 16335.
