William Randolph Narpes, Sr.

April 21, 1947 — December 29, 2019

William Randolph Narpes, Sr., 72, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Erie V.A. Hospital.

He was born April 21, 1947, a son of Bernard and Eloise Randolph Scickora and Kenneth Narpes.  He married Linda Sue Riordan June 12, 1975.

Bill was a graduate of Meadville High School and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1967 to 1969.  He worked at Super Duper, Cutter’s Wholesale, the Meadville Tribune and retired from Peters Heat Treating.

Bill was a member of VFW Post 2006 where he served in the color guard and was also a member of Vernon Volunteer Fire Dept.  He loved food, going out to eat but especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Linda, include, a daughter, Melissa Bocchine Caldwell (Michael) of Cambridge Springs; two sons, William Narpes, Jr. of North Ridgeville, OH and Ryan Narpes (Stephanie) of Waterford; three grandchildren, Brittny Baldesberger of Cambridge Springs and Maxwell and Madeleine Narpes of Waterford; three great-grandchildren, Montana, Kennedy and Carlina Caldwell, all of Cambridge Springs; two sisters, Kathryn Scickora Dahl of Las Vegas, NV and Barb Clark (Denny) of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Lorri Moyer (Larry) and Carol Moyer; two brothers-in-law, Robbie Riordan (Kimberly) and Richard Riordan (India); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carole Smith Hall and a brother-in-law, Wayne Riordan.

Calling hours will be Friday, January 3rd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Delroy Simpson, Pastor of Cambridge Springs Christian Missionary Alliance Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VFW Post 2006 (for the color guard), 1045 S. Morgan St., Meadville, PA 16335.
