William A. (Bill) Ryden

June 28, 1962 — October 2, 2016

William A. (Bill) Ryden, 54, of Conneaut Lake died Sunday, October 2, 2016 at UPMC-Hamot, Erie.

He was born in Pittsburgh June 28, 1962 a son of Howard R. and Mary A. (Tarr) Ryden.  He was a 1980 graduate of Churchill Area High School, Forest Hills, PA and was a well-known local chef.  He worked for Sandy Petruso for 20 years and currently was the chef at Conneaut Lake Park Fire Hall, Station #5.  He enjoyed fishing and golfing, but cooking was his passion enjoying preparing wedding banquets and golf outings.

He is survived by two sisters, Donna J. Sternberg and her husband Steve of Yorktown, VA and Pamela S. Kearns and her husband David of Centreville, VA; two brothers, Howard E. Ryden of Penn Hills and Robert L. Ryden of Cambridge Springs; two aunts, Linda P. Tarr of Penn Hills and Betty Tarr of Atlanta, GA and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 – 8 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive #1900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
