William (Bill) Wayne McNutt, 94, of Juniper Village, Meadville, died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Meadville Medical Center following a short period of declining health.
He was born in Clarion February 10, 1914, a son of the late Wayne L. and Mary Campbell McNutt. He married Mary Elizabeth McNutt February 24, 1934 and she preceded him in death November 8, 2002.
He and Mary Liz spent many winters as “snowbirds” residing at the Municipal Campground, Belle Glade, FL and summers were spent at Camp Wilhelm Campground, Sheakleyville.
Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter. His long-time hunting successes included moose, pronghorn antelope, black bear, mule, and white tailed deer. He was a retired tool and die maker, having worked at Talon in Meadville for 45 years. He was especially proud of his children and their achievements.
Bill is survived by 2 sons, James C. McNutt of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Jon J. McNutt of Meadville; a daughter, Karen L. Schroyer of Limerick; 8 grandchildren, Karen Deguzman, Kathy McDaniel, Beth Clarke, Nathan McNutt, Stephen McNutt, Lynn McNutt, Steven Schroyer, and Kara Rogoff; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Joel W. McNutt; a great-granddaughter, Lauren J. Barnes; and a brother, Charles McNutt.
As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours. Private burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
The family wishes to express its appreciation to the staff of Juniper Village for all their kind assistance.
The family suggests memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
